Following their 2010 victory season, the Northbrook team will campaign three BMW E92 M3s in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway in January. Charles Espenlaub and Charlie Putman, who scored the 2010 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS Class Drivers Title, return with their No. 48 Fall-line Motorsports BMW M3. “We are back!” smiles Putman. “We are here to give it another try. We know the competition is high and they will be gunning for us, but we are well equipped to win again.” Espenlaub looks forward to defending his title and realizes that other teams will be bringing their A-game. “Its going to be much harder to win the title again because each year everyone gets better,” explains Espenlaub. “Daytona is a fun, classic track with plenty of opportunities to pass. I always enjoy racing there and it should be a great show for the fans.” Al Carter and Hugh Plumb will be driving the No. 45 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3. Carter is a two-time Skip Barber Series Masters Champion (2008, 2009) and debuted in the Continental Challenge Series last year. Plumb was the 2006 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner Championship runner-up with his brother Matt Plumb and 2003 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series GT Championship runner-up. Hugh and Al hope to score their first championship title in the GS class with their Fall-Line Motorsports E92 M3. “I’m honored to be racing with Fall-Line Motorsports this season. They have well turned out cars that are consistently reliable,” says Plumb. “The M3 does everything well including its handling and breaking. It will be a great car to race with my teammate Al.” The Fall-Line BMW brigade heads to Daytona this week for testing, prior to the January 28th race. Fall-Line’s goal is to field the absolute best prepared cars with quality drivers and to be consistent frontrunners. Competing in the GS class of the Grand-Am Continental Tire Challenge series, Fall-Line has built their knowledge of the series from the ground up. Getting their start in Grand-Am by developing and building BMW M3’s from scratch, in house, for top teams, supporting those teams as they sorted out their cars, and progressing thru building our own BMW M3’s and competing with them in the series. By entering into a series in the way we have, and by building a high quality car and team, we have garnered the respect of the sanctioning body, as well as our fellow competitors.
